The power to control our bodies, our environment and our destiny requires
sustained and long-term commitments of leadership, resources and community
engagement directed by change agents most equipped to amplify impactful
outcomes.
Enter Groundswell Fund. For more than a decade it has filled a void and closed
gaps in capacity and movement-building by mobilizing new funding and resources to
organizations and initiatives led by women of color, low-income women and
transgender people. Between 2015 and 2019, the Fund pledges to move $30 Million
to organizations on the ground, closest to the problems and most equipped to
deliver solutions.
While Groundswell’s work has centered on reproductive justice, the advocacy and
focus has increasingly addressed the intersectional issues and policies affecting
their partners because of the very nature of the support is aimed at achieving lasting
outcomes.
McKinney has joined the Groundswell Fund communications team in strategic planning,
engagement mapping and storytelling to advance the multi-racial, cross-generational
and lived experiences that are the beating heart of truth-telling.
